These are not Chippendale quality that's for sure. The wood used is lightweight and flimsy as are the accompanying screws and fixtures, however, having bought another item from Christow a few years ago and being prepared to put in a lot of work to protect the wood and prolong the life of the item I am happy to say it is still going strong.
I hope the same can be said of this lean-to cold frame which has had several coats of preservative and Cuprinol paint applied, sealant around all the joints, the hinges etc. painted with rust-proofing and all the screws replaced with stainless steel ones.
